(Founder of Ochre Contemporary Dance Company bringing together Aboriginal and non-indigenous dancers)

Nicola Forrest - Community Award

(Co-founder of Minderoo Foundation - Philanthropic organisation in Australia, Patron of Sculpture by the Sea, Patron of Kimberley Rock Art Foundation, Director of Black Swan State Theatre Company)

Timothy Lefroy - Youth Award

(Reknown for his sporting achievments including National athletics and two Rottnest Channel Swims, and community work)

Lena Nyadbi - Aboriginal Award

(Artist at the Warmun Art Centre in the East Kimberley, her artwork installed on the roof of Musee du quai Branly where can be viewed in Paris from the top of the Eiffel Tower, passing on her cultural and ritual knowledge to young Gija people)

Justin Langer - Sport Award

(One of the Greats in Australian and WA Cricket. Head Coach of Warriors and Perh Scorchers, Patron and Ambassador for many community foundations)

Kadambot Siddique - Professions Award

(Winthrop Professor, an international leader in crop science, developed and released superior varieties of chickpeas, lentils and grass peas, with a mission to 'feed the world')


Although not mentioned, the Environment is in the background for all these award winners.

Lets hope that David Flanagan and other 'risk-takers' in Big Business, flying high on success, eventually come 'down to earth' and concede that they also have a responsibility to our Natural Heritage as well as humanity - for we are all the caretakers of our Natural Heritage.
